School Clubs

Samuel Lucas is a busy place!

Children have a wide variety of clubs to choose from . Some are in school at playtimes and lunchtimes and others are held after school.

During School


Open to Years 4, 5 and 6 on a Friday at the end of the school day. The school choir get to perform in school concerts and local and national musical events.

Dance Club

For Years 3 and 4. Come and have fun with dance whilst improving your rhythm, coordination and choreography skills.

Environmental Club

In Environmental Club at a lunchtime all members help to make the school a greener place and to educate others about having less impact on our environment. The club also plays a part in improving the environmental area for children and animals alike.

History Club

An opportunity to delve into history beyond the classroom curriculum.

KS1 Tennis Club

At lunchtime prepare for Wimbledon. Come and learn tennis skills from a qualified tennis coach.


Open to all in KS2 from a triangle player to a double bass. Friday lunchtime is music making time! The orchestra get to perform in school concerts and local musical events.

Philosophy Club

Year 3 and 4 can explore their thinking and reasoning skills at a lunchtime.

Quiet Club

Every lunchtime there is a rota for a different class to have an opportunity for a quiet time: to read, draw, play games and build with construction. Some children have an on  going pass to attend whenever they wish to.


If you are in Year 2 you can learn your first notes and learn to play with others.

Rising Stars Years 5 and 6

At lunchtime there is another opportunity for physical action!

School Council

Each term two members from Years 2 -6 are voted in by their peers. In weekly meetings whole school issues are discussed and acted upon by the School Council Members.

Singing Playgrounds

Come and learn some fun songs, improve your singing skills and support the younger children out on the playground having musical fun.

After School

Cookery Eatery Club

After school children are able to develop nutritional understanding, cooking skills and social and table manners under expert guidance.

Football Club

Football club is open to Years 5 and 6. Training is after school and the school A and B teams are chosen from the squad. Matches are held at home and away against other local schools.


In Years 5 and 6 training is held after school. The team is chosen for the matches from the squad to play at home and away matches which are held with other local schools.

Rising Stars Gymnastics

After school children can further their gymnastic skills with an expert coach.

Table Tennis

After school activity to build on those reactive skills.
