Hello everyone,
Next week we will be celebrating Autism Acceptance Week in school. The children across the school will experience, assemblies and lessons that will have autism as the focus. We hope this will provide opportunities for positive dialogues and interactions around autism and neurodiversity which will hopefully encourage a greater understanding for all.
In the past, some pupils have wanted to talk to their peers about autism during this week and so if your child would like to do this in any way, please do let your class teacher know and something can be organised for them to have this opportunity. However, can I highlight there is no obligation to do this as we are aware that for some, this would be their worst nightmare!
Below are some links to videos that we will be showing across the week that have been recommended by the National Autistic Society in order to support the delivery of Autism Acceptance Week in schools. We hope you find these useful and supportive for engaging in a dialogue with your child about this week should you wish to do so.
