As writers this week, we explored the features of a diary entry. We then used this to help us write our very own diary entries imagining we were Rapunzel. We then worked in pairs to publish our work – we can’t wait to share this with you at the outcome!
As mathematicians we have been securing our understanding of how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s and even learnt to count in 3s. We will practise counting in 3s throughout the year to become experts in this!
As scientists we used our knowledge of habitats and how animals are suited to them to create our very own animals. We used playdough to create our animals and then made posters explaining why our animals were suited to their habitats.
As Historians we continued our learning on Grace Darling by exploring what happened after she rescued the lives of 9 people. We explored a range of different sources to discover gifts she received and then explored why she became so famous at that time.
As digital learners we continued developing our coding skills by learning how to use the timer command so that the magician would make the rabbit disappear!
We also enjoyed taking part in ‘shared Eric’ where we got to read with our buddy classes. This will now happen every week! Oak class enjoyed reading with Year 6 Beech class and Hawthorn class enjoyed reading with ???
