Our Learning > Our Classes

A Year 2 Class Post

Autumn Term Week 5

Year 2 have had some rather unusual visitors in their class this week… As scientists we have been learning about animals and their habitats. We conducted an experiment to find out what conditions woodlice like in their habitat by using some ‘choice chambers’. The woodlice had the choice of: light and dry, light and moist, dark and dry and dark and moist. We left them in the choice chambers and then used our observational skills to find out which condition the woodlice preferred!

As Historians we explored a range of sources to find out about the life of Grace Darling. After discovering that she rescued people from the crashed SS Forfarshire, we created artefacts for our very own Grace Darling museum.

We have also enjoyed our new physical enrichment activities that started this week. Oak class enjoyed testing their aiming skills with tri golf and Hawthorn enjoyed using a range of wheels to move around, using the balance bikes, scooters and body boards!
