We received a mystery suitcase from someone in the Windrush which we had to solve. It was full of interesting sources such as photographs from Jamaica and a one way ticket to Britain. Using our investigating and researching skills, we researched about the Windrush. We even have a student in our class who’s Grandfather came to Britain on the Windrush, it was so interesting hearing about his story!
We learnt about what Empathy means and used our empathy skills when writing our diary entries today. In our diary entries, we imagined we were on the Empire Windrush ship arriving to Britain in 1948 expressing our feelings on the ship and describing the journey.
