A Year 5 Class Post

Creating landscape art, fractions of a quantity and Aztec artefacts!

Last week we went outside to observe our school landscape and sketch the outline using one medium then added more layers such as charcoal, graphite then oil pastels. We created beautiful landscapes and practised giving refined feedback to each other as artists in our Art gallery such as ”I like the lines and circle shapes you created in your landscape.”.

In maths this week, we finished our fractions unit by playing a matching game where we found our matching fraction quantity by calculating the fraction to make a chain.

Yesterday, year 5 historians learnt about Aztec lifestyle and what artefacts the Aztecs used in their everyday life and then created a model using modelling clay.
