Dare to be Different Theme

This week marks the second week of our “Daring to be Different” theme. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been using books and stories along-side all of our learning across the curriculum; from English and Maths, to Art and History. Last week, we used the story Wonder to make us think of how we are all different and celebrated our individuality through our art and writing skills. This week, we have been studying a book about Boudicca, linking our English and History through writing and drama. We have also linked this to our art skills, as we designed and created our own Celtic jewellery that represented our individuality.

We were also very lucky, as we were able to meet the real life author and illustrator, Alex. T. Smith! Some of us were able to meet him face-to-face and even have our books signed! In assembly, Alex. T. Smith showed us how to draw one of the main characters in his stories. Please see below some photos of some of the amazing work we have thoroughly enjoyed doing over the last couple of weeks!
