This term we have been looking at the work of the British artist David Hockney in our Art lessons.
Last Friday we began looking at some of Hockney’s most well-known work portraying water, and in particular ‘A Bigger Splash’, which shows the splash of a swimming pool after someone has entered it.
We discussed this type of water and how it looks very different to other types of water / movements of water. We then used pencil, charcoal, paint and oil pastels to convey a wave, a glass of water, rain, a pond and a splash concentrating on the range of textures and colours.
We all did very different, exciting and interesting interpretations of the water.
