This week we have been exploring artefacts from the Victorian time to complete our learning of the Victorian times. We discussed how it might feel like being a child living during that time and having to work instead of going to school. We were so impressed with the ways our year 2 historians explored the artefacts, asking insightful questions and shared predictions about what the artefacts might be. We also learnt about the foods that people ate during The Victorian times depending on their class in society and created our own Victorian food menu.
As artists, we went out foraging for plants, flowers, sticks and any natural objects around the school to create our nature collage. The children loved this outdoor lesson and then we designed and created our own collages based on our techniques and learning of weather and nature art this term. We hope you enjoy their nature collages as much as they do!
Have a well-deserved half term and we look forward to our final term of year 2!
