How wonderful it has been to welcome the children back to a more normal school environment. They have done extremely well to re-adjust to new routines and are impressing all of us with their behaviour and commitment to learning.
Already we have had some wonderful diary entries based on the book “Where the Wild Things Are” and we have started our class reader: “The Boy At The Back of the Class.”
Maths has seen us consolidating place value skills and extending our knowledge to include numbers up to 10 million.
In art, we are studying the work of Henri Rousseau and have been honing our observational skills before working on our final display pieces.
As scientists, we have been classifying animals according to their characteristics and in RE we have made some impressive Wesak lanterns to show how Buddhists celebrate the birthday of Buddha.
Clubs and responsibilities are being allocated and we are so pleased by the children’s enthusiasm to volunteer!
It’s great that the year six children have remembered their PE kits on Monday and Friday; their football skills are developing nicely.
We look forward to seeing you next Thursday evening!
