A Year 6 Class Post

Isle of Wight. Captain’s Log. Monday 20th May

Hi all.

What a brilliant day. Great journey down to Portsmouth via Fleet Services. Fantastic weather.

Possibly the best HMS Victory tour we have had thanks to the friendly, knowledgeable guides, followed by a calm and happy ferry crossing.

The children are genuinely delighted with the quality of their rooms; it’s wonderful to see their happiness, surprise and genuine gratitude for coming to such a lovely hotel.  They all loved the food too. Second helpings of ……erm…… salad….. were received excitedly. It might have been chips, thinking about it.

The evening session on the beach was excellent too. A beautiful evening playing with friends. The children and staff have behaved impeccably so far. As I’m typing this (22.16) there’s not a peep from my corridor. We are still having the occasional prowl before turning in ourselves!

Tomorrow sees us visiting Osborne House in the morning, followed by fossil hunting in the afternoon. The forecast is not as promising but I’m sure it will be great regardless!

Over and out for now.
