A Year 2 - Hawthorn Class Post

London’s Burning

Today there was a fire in the playground! However the fire fighters were on hand to help us put it out. Hitchin fire fighters came in today to help us in our Great Fire of London learning. We learnt about fire fighting in 1666 and fire fighting now. They taught us how quickly the fire would have spread using our model London to demonstrate. After putting out the fire they then took us on a tour of the fire engine. A massive thank you for their visit!
