On Friday evening, members of the Samuel Lucas school orchestra had the pleasure of playing in a concert with the Youth Orchestra at the British Schools museum. It was a great evening with a varied repertoire of music. The Youth Orchestra played brilliantly and all the Samuel Lucas children enjoyed listening to their pieces, moving to the music and sometimes even practising their conducting! They played their own pieces confidently and the audience of family, friends and Youth Orchestra members were suitably impressed by the high standard of playing from such young musicians. A highlight of the evening was definitely when the Samuel Lucas pupils got to play with the Youth Orchestra on the Timelapse piece.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and our special thanks go to Mrs Footer for organising it and enabling our orchestra to have such a wonderful experience.
