We have had a very busy return to everything PESSPA following the summer holidays.
PE
In Early Years we are working on our balancing, climbing, crawling, running, walking and stopping skills. We had lots of fun and I was very impressed with your first ever PE lesson at Samuel Lucas!
Years 1 and 2 have been working on their Teambuilding skills with a focus on honesty, trust, inclusion and teamwork. We are moving onto a Health and Wellbeing unit before half term.
In Years 3 – 6 we have started the term with a football unit and we have enjoyed putting our skills into Intra-House tournaments in the past week. Well done everyone! On top of demonstrating the physical skills you have, I have been really impressed with your teamwork, honesty, resilience and perseverance. We will be moving onto a Tag Rugby unit before half term.
Physical Activity
The weather has been very kind as we take on a new Daily Mile Destinations journey this half term with all year groups starting from a new country.
We have enjoyed the return of enrichment on a Friday afternoon with activities ranging from Den Building to Capture the Flag.
School Sport
I am delighted that Sports Partnership events and school fixtures are able to return on a wider scale. We have Year 6 and Year 4 Tag Rugby Festivals, a Year 4 Rapid Fire Cricket competition as well as Football and Netball matches to look forward to in the coming weeks.
If any of our children achieve something in the world of sport outside of school, I would love to hear about it so we can celebrate their achievements in school. These can be sent to the school admin email address.
Thank you – keep up the good start everyone!
