This week we have begun our new English topic, poetry.
First of all we researched the poet we are going to being taking inspiration from: Spike Milligan. We retrieved important and interesting information about Spike from a biography.
Next we explored a range of poems that he wrote. We discussed similarities and differences – noticing how all of them are extremely silly and that they made us laugh a lot! They are nonsense poems.
Finally we practised the skill of maintaining an audience’s interest by using intonation, volume and expression whilst performing one of these poems to the class.
