Year 2 have had another fantastic, busy week! Our second week of book club was successful with lovely books from home (Hawthorn: Emma and Jasper and Oak: Florence and Alice) being shared with the class asking insightful questions about the characters, settings and the plots. We look forward to another week of book club from Lex, Evie (Hawthorn), Dimitris and Eleanor.
As religious learners, we have continued learning about Judaism and how Jewish people pray. We learnt about the Jewish prayer the Shema and how it can be found in their place of worship the Synagogue, Torah and in homes inside a Mezuzah. We chose our learning activity and practised writing the Shema in Hebrew or English or created our own Mezuzah and Torah scroll. We explored videos of Jewish children’s experiences and how important it is to have special reminders of their faith.
