This week
We can’t believe it’s the end of term! As always, we’ve been very busy! We have been learning about Easter and how Christian’s celebrate it around the world. The children have taken part in lots of Easter related activities including, making Easter cards, Easter bonnets and Easter baskets. We have had a focus on this week on the features of instructions and followed instructions carefully as we made chocolate Easter nests and drew Easter chicks. The children loved tasting the hot cross buns and we spoke about the symbolism of the cross on the top of them. We ended the week by watching the film ‘Hop’ and going on an Easter Egg in our outdoor learning area.
As well as all of this we took part in the whole school celebration of Science week. The children were fantastic scientists, posing questions, making predictions and then testing those predictions. They explored floating and sinking, forces, magnetic and non-magnetic materials and took part in the whole school experiment to see which biscuit makes the best dunker!
Supporting your child at home
- This week we have been talking about celebrating Easter. It would be great if you could talk with your children about what festivals or occasions you celebrate as a family. If you get chance to pop anything on Tapestry we’d love to see.
- Please continue to share books with your children whenever possible as well as listening to them read their school or Bug Club books.
We hope that you all have a lovely Easter and wish for good weather. We really look forward to seeing the children back at school on Tuesday 13th April.
