Hello parents!
I am sorry for not blogging sooner, we have been super busy in Year 4 over the last few weeks!
We have started working on our new history topic, The Shang Dynasty, which has fascinated some of our class to the point that they have been busy researching at home and bringing facts into school which is wonderful to see!
We have also been busy classifying different animals in science, both classes have used branching databases to sort animals into different categories using specific criteria- a quick question for you all, why is a platypus so difficult to classify?
Our classes have been working hard to use the scientific vocabulary to define these animals and we have been very impressed with their work.
Our DT projects are now also underway- we are moving to designing our pop up books over the next week and then we will be using the mechanisms we have been investigating to make them.
Finally, you probably saw the classes enjoying a game of rounders at the end of Friday, this is part of our new sport enrichment program. The games were thoroughly enjoyed by all and we already can’t wait for next week!
