We had a wealth of fantastic experiences during British Science Week. As well as dissecting and analysing a barn owl pellet, we explored what happened when vinegar is added to warmed milk (plastic cheese)! Our computing skills were put to the test when we had to debug “Autosub 6000” and we took great pleasure in discovering what Vikings ate. For this activity, Year 5 made a variety of Viking faeces based on existing evidence which Year 6 then explored to discover the various foods. We were able to establish who lived near water sources due to fish-bones present and even in which season the poo was created by thinking about availability of cherry stones!
