Its been a busy start back in the world of school sport following the half term break.
Years 1 and 2 have been working very hard on their fundamental skills in PE – this half term our focus is on developing our skills using our feet.
KS2 are focusing on Sportshall Athletics in preparation for their Intra house tournaments in December.
We have had a very positive start to the half term in our competitive sports fixtures – the A team are through to the Wix Cup Semi Final (away to Highover next Thursday 22nd) following a penalty shootout victory over William Ransom in the Quarter Final. After a 1-1 draw and extra time, Jim and team captain Jamie scored the decisive penalties. Player of the match went to Frank for a dominant midfield display.
The girls football team drew 2-2 with the Whitehill girls team on Wednesday evening. They are constantly improving and playing with a smile which is great to watch. After team captain Lily had scored the opening goal, we found ourselves trailing 2-1 after a couple of well taken goals from the Whitehill players. With the game drawing to a close Lily curled a fantastic free kick over the wall and into the top corner for a deserved draw. Player of the match went to Hannah S for an excellent defensive performance.
The Netballers have been practicing hard for their upcoming match against St.Ippolytts at the end of the month and Hockey club has started this half term for years 5/6 with a view to competing in the NHSSP competition in March.
Next week we have the Wix Cup Semi final and the first Year 3/4 football match of the year at home against Wilshere Dacre.
Well done to everyone for your achievements so far, keep it going!
