Year 2 have had another fantastic week of learning this week!
As readers we explored the explanation text ‘Monsters: An owner’s guide’. As writers we then explored the features of explanation texts as well as creating our own oral explanations about how the cat was eaten by the monster Shambles!
As mathematicians we have continued to explore dividing and have learnt to divide by 2, 5 and 10. The children are very excited about now practising their multiplication and division knowledge on times table Rockstar’s each week!
As geographers we have learnt about what a continent and ocean is and then labelled our own maps of the world with their names.
As digital learners we have moved on from paper binary trees to using digital binary trees to help us identify the names of different avatars.
As scientists we explored the suitability of different materials for different objects by using spinners to play a game of ‘sensible or not’?’ One spinner had materials on and the other had objects. We spun the spinners and then had to decide if it was sensible or not (e.g. is a hammer made out of glass sensible or not?)
