We have had yet another exciting and busy week in Year 2! As writers we have written our very own versions of Tiddalick the frog and are looking forward to sharing our published versions with you at the summer outcome!
As mathematicians we have continued learning about fractions, focusing on unit and non-unit fractions. We have also learnt that a half is equivalent to 2 quarters.
As scientists we have used our measuring skills to see how much our plants have grown!
As geographers we have learnt about weather and extreme weather. We used weather symbol cards to help us become weather reporters and show the different types of weather around the world.
As designers we have started our food technology unit where we will be making pavlovas. We used our tasting skills to evaluate different fruits to see which fruits we would like to have on our pavlovas. We then developed our food preparation skills by learning to cut the fruits using the bridge or the claw method.
As religious learners, we have learnt about the importance and value of rules. We came up with our own rules for a board game, and then played it following those rules. It was so wonderful to see everyone using some important skills including listening, taking turns, sharing, and including everybody.
