As mathematicians this week we have finished our learning on fractions. We have learnt how to find three quarters of an amount (first by finding one quarter, two quarters and then three quarters.) We have also learnt to count in fractions until we reach a whole!
As designers we have thoroughly enjoyed designing, making, testing and evaluating our own pavlovas. We separated the egg whites, whisked them until firm, measured out the sugar and added all the final ingredients until we have created silky smooth meringue. After finishing off our pavlovas with cream and fruit (which we prepared using our previously learnt cutting skills) we then enjoyed tasting them as part of a class picnic on the field!
