A Year 2 Class Post

Summer 2 Week 3

We have had another fantastic week in Year 2, where the children have particular loved making their Tudor houses and showing us how much they have learnt about the Great Fire of London. As Historians, we explored what houses looked like back in 1666 and talked about how and why they were made like that. The children worked extremely hard in small groups to create their own house! They applied skills such as measuring, sticking, cutting as well as social skills such as compromising, listening and turn taking. We were very impressed with what the children created!

The children then had the chance to present their house to the class and show off what they had learnt. We were impressed with the children’s speaking and listening skills and with how confident they were when speaking in front of the whole class. Well done Year 2!
