We have had yet another busy and exciting week in Year 2 with lots of fantastic learning happening across the curriculum.
As Historians, the children have explored what life was like in America in the past. The children thought carefully about the impact of Martin Luther King’s actions and how significant his actions were. The children were fantastic at working in groups, listening to others’ ideas and sharing their own thoughts.
As designers, Oak class have began to investigate vehicles in preparation for when they design and make their very own vehicle. Hawthorn are excited to start this next week. The children used their drawing and labelling skills to produce a detailed diagram of a vehicle.
In PSHE, we have been celebrating our differences. The children have really enjoyed working together in pairs to talk about their their similarities and differences. In Hawthorn class some of the boys were surprised to hear how many girls love football, and some of the girls were surprised to hear how many boys love Frozen! It is really wonderful that the children are learning about each other more and finding out more interesting things about their friends.
We have also had a lot of fun today celebrating Children in Need day. The children all looked fabulous and we al loved watching a drawing animation and drawing our very own Pudsey bear!
