It’s great to be back and looking forward to the year ahead for Physical activity, sport and PE!
Physical Activity
The children have all started their daily mile this week in the sunshine and our Year 6 Beech class had an active break on Thursday afternoon where they tried a Bodycoach primary school workout. They all enjoyed themselves and it encouraged them to think about the different ways we can use our bodies to improve our fitness and be active.
Physical Education
Our classes will focus on the following units this half term:
EYFS – Locomotion
Year 1 – Movement Skills and Dance
Year 2 – Movement Skills and Dance
Year 3 – Tag Rugby and Gymnastics
Year 4 – Tag Rugby and Swimming
Year 5 – Tag Rugby and Dance
Year 6 – Tag Rugby and Gymnastics
In Years 1 and 2 we will finish the half term with a Multi-Skills festival and In Years 3-6 the children will compete in their houses in an afternoon of Tag Rugby matches.
School Sport
The football season starts next Saturday (14th September) with the A team early season rally and there are regular fixtures for our A, B and girls teams throughout the half term including Wix Cup fixtures and ESFA tournaments.
The netball season is due to start this month and we are also looking forward to a Year 1 Multi-Skills festival, a Year 5/6 Tag Rugby festival and the Y5/Y6 cross country competition this half term.
Olympic Legacy Event
Both of our Year 5 classes will be attending the North Herts Schools Sports Partnership Olympic Legacy event on Wednesday 18th September. All of the children will bring a letter home next week with further information.
Thank you
