We hope everyone had a well-deserved refreshing break over half term. We are excited about our new topics and learning, as well as looking forward now to Bikeability and Christmas.
Forces
We have got off to a great start with our new Science topic – forces. This week we explored the key concepts of opposing forces and balanced and unbalanced forces. We started building up our Science vocabulary, practising explaining words like resistance, gravity and friction, as well as finding out about the work of Sir Isaac Newton. We then explored a variety of toys, using our new vocabulary to explain how we saw forces at work in the different games and contraptions.
Fractions
In Maths we have been investigating fractions, using the skills we practised in the multiplication and division unit we have just completed. So far we have looked into unit fractions, non-unit fractions and equivalent fractions.
