This week:
We have had a great week getting to know your children. We have been supporting them to become familiar with the resources available to them inside and outside of the classroom and have been spending time with them modelling how to use them. We have been encouraging them to “choose it, use it, then put it away” in order to keep our classroom environment tidy. We have been enjoying sharing the children’s home learning and getting to know more about their family and their interests. We have been working in small groups of 5 on activities that are a precursor to starting our whole class phonics lessons and singing number rhymes in readiness for our maths lessons.
Next week:
We will be continuing to spend lots of time in the environment with your children supporting them in their play.
You can help by:
– Sending in your child’s summer home learning activity if you have not already done so.
– Ensuring all items of clothing, water bottles etc are named please
– Working with your child to help them practise taking their jumpers on and of independently.
Class blog:
As we continue throughout the year, we will use the Class Blog as a means of regular communication between school and home. We will tell you about:
- What’s happened during each week
- What’s coming up
- Ideas about supporting your child at home
- Any other information you may need to know
We have really enjoyed getting to know your children and look forward to a fun week next week.
Have a good weekend.
