In RE we are focussing on ‘light’ and how this is important in different religions. The children have learnt about the Hindu religion of Diwali. Following on from last week when Mrs Kumar spoke about how Hindu’s celebrated Diwali, this week they learnt about why they celebrate Diwali through the story of Sita and Rama.
In Art we are focussing on Jackson Pollock and abstract art. The children have been practising his techniques of flicking, dripping and pouring in the outside area.
We have also ben learning about Christopher Columbus and this week looked into hoe sailors navigated in the 1400’s. The children have been busy making compasses, telescopes and constellations of the stars. Finally we spent the day completing fun activities all around Children in Need.
