Welcome to year 1!
In English, we have been enjoying the book Peter Pan retold in rhyme by Caryl Hart. We have been sequencing the story. We have also been using the books to learn about nouns. We used our new knowledge about nouns to write labels for the classroom and for Captain Hook.
This week in maths we have been recapping our learning on numbers to ten. We’ve been using our counting skills into a tens frame as well as working on recognising and writing our digits to ten.
In RE, we learnt about how Christians celebrate the Harvest. We learnt about what they do to thank God for the fruitfulness of the Earth. We then filled our own Harvest Basket with the things we are thankful for.
In PE, we have been working on our team work skills. Pupils are starting to understand why it is important to include everyone when working as a team and will start to learn and understand what makes an effective team.
In Science, we have been exploring everyday materials. We have been thinking about what materials the objects in the classroom are made out of.
We also had our first French lesson this week!
