Welcome to Year 3!
We welcome Year 3 to Key Stage 2 and to their new Ash and Elm classrooms.
In English we will begin the year with our new handwriting pens. We will be focusing on recounts and will write an account of our trip to Celtic Harmony Iron Age Settlement. Later, we will focus on Fables.
In Maths we will start the year by focusing on place value which we are beginning to apply to addition and subtraction. We will work on our times tables throughout the term.
In Science we will be investigating different types of rocks and learning about their properties. In the second half of the term we will be moving on to explore light.
During our Computing lessons we will be learning the skills to be programmers by designing and creating our own animations on Scratch.
In History we will be examining buildings through the ages with a focus on the Stone Age through to the Iron Age. We will be designing and creating our own Year 3 quilt using stitching skills.
Throughout our RE lessons this term we will be building positive relationships by learning more about Christianity and Islam.
In PE lessons we will be developing our skillset in Gymnastics, working on our flexibility and coordination.
We are looking forward to a busy, exciting Autumn term.
