We welcome year 3 to Key Stage 2 and to their new Ash and Elm classrooms.
In English we have begun the year with our new handwriting pens. We will be focussing on recounts and writing an account of our trip to Celtic Harmony Iron Age Settlement in the second week of term and later we will focus on Fables. In Maths we have started the year by focussing on place value which we are beginning to apply to addition and subtraction.
In Science we are investigating different types of rocks and learning about their properties. In the second half of the term we will be moving onto explore light. During our Computing lessons we are learning the skills to be programmers by designing and creating our own animations on Scratch.
In History we are examining Buildings through the ages with a focus on the Stone Age through to the Iron Age. We will be designing and building our own Celtic roundhouses. Throughout our RE lessons this term we will be building positive relationships by learning more about Christianity and Islam.
In PE lessons we will be developing our skillset in Gymnastics working on our flexibility and coordination.
We are looking forward to a busy but exciting Autumn term.
