A Year 4 Class Post

Year 4 Autumn 1 Week 6

This week as writers we have explored the Roman myth ‘Romulus and Remus’. We have used it to help us write our own speech dialogue with the twins arguing with each other.

As mathematicians we have started using the column method to help us add and subtract 4 digit numbers. We used the place value counters to help us first and then used the formal written method.

As historians we learnt about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii and how the excavation enabled us as historians to learn so much about the Romans.

As digital learners we have developed our coding skills this half term and have all created our own games using code!

Last week, we had an amazing time at the tag rugby festival. They showed good teamwork and respect to all the other teams and we even had a special mascot join us.

Last week in science, we have applied our learning of sound and created our own ear defenders.

We have also rehearsed for our Harvest festival at Christchurch ready for sharing with you all next week!
