This week as writers, we have started reading the text ‘Pugs of the frozen North’. We used our predicting skills to predict who might the win the race in the story, as well as our inference skills to explore what the characters in the story might say or do.
As mathematicians, we have started our new learning on measuring length. We learnt how to convert between km and m, as well as learning how to find the perimeter of rectangles.
As scientists, we learnt all about the digestive system and the role that teeth play in this. We worked in groups to create our own models of this.
As geographers, we continued learning about weathering, this time focusing on chemical weathering. We learnt that oxygen can react with landforms changing their appearance, as well as acids in plants and acid rain. We conducted a range of experiments to help us gain a deeper understanding of this.
