This week as writers, we have been exploring and writing a range of food based poems from the book ‘Midnight feasts’.
As mathematicians, we have been learning about money. We have learnt how to estimate total prices of food by rounding, as well as calculating prices and change we would receive.
As scientists, we learnt about non-Newtonian liquids (liquids that do not behave like a normal liquid should). We created cornflour slime and discovered that when you put pressure on it, it acts as a solid, however when you put your fingers into it, it acts as a liquid!
As artists, we have made our very own sculptures out of newspaper and modroc. After they were dry, we then painted them by mixing colours to match the food we were making.
As geographers, we have continued exploring transport, this time focusing on road maps within counties. We used the maps to help us plan our own cycle routes between 2 places.
