During the summer term, Year 4 can look forward to some exciting learning both inside and outside the classroom. In Physical Geography, we will be learning about the Earth’s structure, volcanoes and earthquakes and will be using modelling clay to demonstrate what we’ve learnt.
The summer term will be fun during Design & Technology, where we will be making (and tasting) savoury muffins in the kitchen. We will take inspiration from artists: Clarice Cliff to design and paint our own art deco plates and Keith Haring to design our own “logo person”.
In English, we will be writing our own effective explanation and discussion texts including: “How to make a parent-pleaser”. In computing, Year 4 are going to be developing our coding skills and exploring different websites that are safe and effective places to learn.
In addition, we look forward to presenting and performing our production this year. We also have an educational trip to Ashridge Estate to support our learning on habitats and further developing our geographical and orientation skills.
We hope to be able to display many of the exciting things we plan to do during this busy term at our open evening in July.
