Our Titanic dances have been practised and performed! The children have worked brilliantly together, session by session, to piece together key moments fro the ill-fated voyage. Drama, facial expression, choreography and improvisation were all key in achieving our final result.
As geographers, we ave established the connection between biomes and climate zones and used world maps to identify the conditions in a number of countries. We shall be focusing on individual biomes in subsequent weeks.
Our historical enquiries have seen us examining the possible causes of the fall of the Mayan Empire and we are continuing this topic during art, where we will be printing our own Mayan designs.
In English we have been reading the quality text “Cogheart” by Peter Bunzl and using it as a stimulus for our writing. The story is captivating and both Spruce and Beech have written character descriptions and a wonderfully detailed descriptions of settings. We have also linked our blogging in computing lessons to Cogheart by writing reviews of the book.
In RE we have worked collaboratively to compare the life of a buddhist monk in Britain to that of a practising buddhist. In PSHE, we have considered how we are affected by the plight of others in our country and worldwide and have created our own “Dream for the World” bunting.
As musicians, we have been developing chord progressions with our ukuleles and as language students we have revised constructing sentences related to sports.
Algebra has been our focus in maths and this will continue next week.
