Hello everyone
Another eventful week has past at Samuel Lucas.
We would like to thank Mr Smith for all his hard work in organising Sports Day for the whole school. The event was extremely enjoyable and we were delighted by the sporting way in which all children participated. The inclusive activities are prepared to foster team spirit great sporting behaviour. Congratulations to all children and well done to Pendleton who came first once all the KS1 and KS2 scores had been added. Many thanks for your supportive comments and appreciation. It was lovely to see the parents getting involved in the sprint, as well as the teachers. I was just pipped at the post by Mr Smith. By about eighteen seconds.
The Phase team paid us another visit on Wednesday, with the focus being on alleviating worries and concerns as our children prepare to move up to year seven. Thank you to the team for their time and commitment to our school.
In class, we have been continuing with our theme park maths and Isle of Wight project work. We have received some really wonderful home learning ranging from cartoons, poems and artwork to videos and incredibly imaginative models. Thank you all very much for all your effort over the last three weeks.
Rehearsals for our concert are developing extremely well and we cannot wait to perform for you on the final Monday of term.
On Thursday we were visited by Tommy from the company “Rocksteady” who treated us to an assembly about rock and pop music where he demonstrated the guitar, drum, vocal and keyboard elements of a traditional rock band. He was warmly received by the children and staff alike.
