All the writing skills we practised as writers in the first half term have finally come together as we present our amazing creative writing based on “Spiderwick.”
We have been so impressed by the children’s enthusiasm and creativity. We have tried to incorporate passive, subjunctive, modal verbs and a full range of punctuation into our pieces to show ourselves as year six writers. Handwriting has been a real focus too; the black pens we used have added to the distinctive feel of the overall display as it emulates the accompanying art work.
In addition to this, we have also produced beautiful explanation pamphlets, detailing how best to look after our Spiderwick creature!
The art skills we have practised are also evident in our multi-media illustrations of our fantastical creatures.
In other subjects, we have considered and discussed prejudice and discrimination in our Jigsaw lessons and have looked at probability in our dice- rolling computing lessons.
As historians, we have looked at the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan and have developed our team-building and leadership skills in PE lessons based on communication and tactics.
Maths lessons have seen us refining our long division skills and revisiting order of operations.
