School Clubs
Samuel Lucas is a busy place!
Children have a wide variety of clubs to choose from . Some are in school at playtimes and lunchtimes and others are held after school.
Before School
Running Club
Open to Years 4, 5 and 6 on a Friday morning at 8am.
Athletics Club
Open to Years 4, 5 and 6 on a Friday morning in the KS Hall at 8am.
During School
Choir
Open to Years 4, 5 and 6 on a Friday. The school choir get to perform in school concerts and local and national musical events.
Tennis Club
This is for selected children to learn tennis skills from a qualified tennis coach.
Orchestra
Friday lunchtime is music making time for KS2! The orchestra get to perform in school concerts and local musical events.
Lunchtime Club
This is for selected children to have an opportunity to read, draw, play games and build with construction, rather than being outside on the playground.
Recorders
If you are in Year 2 you can learn your first notes and learn to play with others.
School Council
Each term two members from Years 2 -6 are voted in by their peers. In weekly meetings whole school issues are discussed and acted upon by the School Council Members.
Debate Club
Year 5 and Year 6 pupils can attend this club held on a Wednesday lunchtime.
Librarian Club
The school librarians are in the school library Monday to Thursday lunchtimes.
Sports Leaders Committee Club
The elected Sports Leaders meet every Thursday lunchtime with Mrs Thomas.
Book Club
Book club is for selected Year 3 and Year 4 children who meet on a Friday lunchtime.
Home Learning Club
Every Friday lunchtime home learning club is run by Mrs Tarr.
After School
Cookery Eatery Club
After school children are able to develop nutritional understanding, cooking skills and social and table manners under expert guidance.

Year 5 & Year 6 Football Club
Football club for Years 5 and 6 is on a Tuesday after school. The school A and B teams are chosen from the squad. Home matches are held at school and away against other local schools.
Rising Stars Football Clubs
Rising Stars football club is open to Years 1 & 2 on a Tuesday after school and for Years 3 & 4 on a Wednesday after school. To book please contact Rising Stars 01462 790152.
Netball
In Years 5 and 6 training is held after school. The team is chosen for the matches from the squad to play at home and away matches which are held with other local schools.
Rising Stars Gymnastics

Tag rugby club is open to Years 5 and 6 on a Thursday after school.
